Harbor Country Day School has been successfully serving students in Nursery through Grade 8 since 1958.
The School was founded by parents who wanted to establish a school that provided both personal attention and academic excellence. Today, Harbor continues to flourish with these principles at the core of its mission. Situated on ten beautiful acres in the Head of the Harbor section of St. James, Harbor Country Day School is an independent, co-educational school educating students in nursery through eighth grade.
In classes designed to be small, the faculty fosters an atmosphere which encourages students to develop interests and reach their full potential. The motto of Harbor Country Day School, "Sine Labore Nihil" - Without Work, Nothing, aptly describes the rigorous approach to learning. Students at Harbor learn to work independently, as well as with others, to achieve the goal of a sound education.
Harbor Country Day School is chartered by the New York State Board of Regents, is fully accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).
